Best described as automatic music, their trance–inducing performances are based on odd rhythmic motion patterns. „Automatic“ insofar, as the resulting composition depends on an imperative body motion pattern which breaks apart the rhythmic scale into its most wanted proportions. The performer’s orthodox binding to the unimpeachable natural law of the octave continues to challenge isometric conditioning out of its idiot box.
Since 2018 João Pais Filipe (drums) and Burnt Friedman (electronics) investigate into automatic pattern–composition rooted in doubling and halving; the unimpeachable laws of motion. Friedman & Pais succumb to this mode of action –the drilling of a method– and discover the principles of rhythmic phenomena while dis–associating music from cultural idioms.

The impecable work of two great artists. It's difficult to know what each has done on this record and it is that that makes it so great. Mortazavi and Friedman are very complementary and bring a sort of relaxed dub to the world which is very satisfying. Thibaut Devigne
